The effects of the Social Web

Web2.0 tagOne of the latest examples of the success of the Social Web (i.e. Social Networking sites, Web2.0) is the fkae MPAA site that was setup in order to catch people who'd want to download illegal content.

Well, as reported on Zeropaid, the site has been taken offline.

This is yet another example of the new age that has been brought by the Web2.0 revolution. In the Social Networking age, we, the surfers and web users, have a lot more power than ever before. By broadcasting information in a multitude of social bookmakring and networking sites, user generated content is reaching exposure levels equal to or greater than regular media. It has evolved into such a stage where users now are able to rally and make a difference, not only for themselves, but also for their peers worldwide.
